Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Freedom Park is the largest public park in Atlanta, spanning 210 acres of linear green space. It links landmarks like the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic site to neighborhoods like Little Five Points and Inman Park. The park also features several permanent art installations. The sculpture "Homage to King" was created in 1996 in honor of the summer Olympic games. It's located at the intersection of Freedom Parkway and Boulevard, just west of the Jimmy Carter Center and Presidential Library, and just north of the King Center. It's one of my favorite pieces among the installations. I love how the hand reaches out towards the skyline, reminding us of what an impact one person can make.
