Oh hi, internet! Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. Well, I suppose my "About" tab does that. And that little "Welcome" box over to the right kinda gives you a little somethin' too. What I mean to say is that I wanted to introduce this blog to you!
I'm no stranger to the blogging world. I had humble beginnings as a food blogger over at Cooking for Gringas. I started a cooking blog because Dave, my now-fiance, is Cuban and I am not. Learning how to make authentic Latino cuisine is an ongoing adventure, and I really enjoyed writing about cooking (and eating). Eventually, though, I found this topic too narrow. I wanted to write about other recipes; more importantly, we wanted to eat other things.
Then, we got engaged. I started chronicling my wedding adventures so that I would have something to later reflect upon. Somehow, all of the stars aligned and for some reason, Weddingbee asked me to write for them as Miss Lioness. Sharing my plans, ideas, and inspiration with the Weddingbee community has truly shaped my wedding planning journey. Additionally, I think it really helped to shape my "voice" as a writer. I really think I'm a lot more comfortable behind this keyboard than I was when I first started. Either that, or I just have a lot less shame.
Our wedding is now a little over a month away, so I started to think about the next step in my blogging quest. When Dave asked me what I wanted for my upcoming birthday, I didn't hesitate when I asked for a new blog, complete with design by HowJoyful! I still have a lot to say about the wedding, so I won't be writing regularly over here quite yet. Still, I wanted to get the ball rolling. Maybe then I can already have some followers established before I start writing over here full-time? Pretty please?

First off, I LOVEEE your new blog. It makes me all happy and giggly. Second, I agree with the "less shame." In the beginning I was super hesitant to say anything about anything, now I have a lot less shame which has led to some of my readers really gaining something from my posts and being able to relate to me.
We have been married over 9 months and the hubs is STILL working on my new blog. Sigh. I will have to wait a few more weeks. Should have had HowJoyful make it! But, I know having one made by my husband will be ultra special.
Also, I feel like we are SOOO blog twins. With your hubby being a UCF alum (and mine!) and you/I as Gators. :) I will officially be stalking you at this location. Bwahah.
It's so true. I think readers like it when bloggers come across as more "real"...even when it means sharing the nitty gritty stuff!
I'm stalking your lovely blog too, blog twin! Can't wait to see the new edition!
