Chef Joey Bridgers, owner of Golden Maple Food, grew up cooking with his grandmas. He's now a classically trained chef with over 15 years of experience under his belt, but he's passionate about a different kind of classic.
Yep, that's a smoker on wheels! Joey specializes bar-b-que, as well as other traditional Southern dishes - think everything from fried turkey to a whole hog. Golden Maple Foods caters, but they also enjoy onsite cooking all over Smyrna. Locations like Love Street and Rev coffeeshop help to bring a sense of community to Joey's comfort food.
This past Saturday, I found Joey across from Love Street on Concord Road. I had the brisket, and Dave had the pork (our usual protocol with bar-b-que). And, of course, we had to sample some mac and cheese! All of the dishes were delicious, but I'll let the photos do the talking.
If you're in the Smyrna area, I highly recommend these guys! We'll definitely be back.
