What do those four food groups have in common? Well, apparently, they're BFFs.
Last weekend, Scoutmob presented a launch party for coffee:POPs, the brainchild of two Atlanta favorites: Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters and the King of Pops. These guys created three new pop flavors that will soon be added to King of Pops distributors all over the metro ATL area.
The "coffee" flavored pop tasted like those first few pure sips of an iced coffee, before it gets diluted by ice cubes. There is also a "latte" flavored pop for those who like a little cream in their coffee. The "mocha" brings another local favorite into the mix: Cacao.
If all of these treats weren't enough, local food truck Yumbii was there with street food available for purchase. Be on the lookout for them at the new Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market (which you may remember as the Howell Mill Food Park). Additionally, jugs of iced coffee were available for purchase. (Best of all, those who purchased these things can bring them back into Dancing Goats in Decatur for a $5 refill!)
The soundtrack to this party was provided by local band Trances Arc. I had heard good things about them, but I hadn't had a chance to hear them play. I really liked their style, and I'll definitely be looking for them again soon!
So where does beer come into this picture? Monday Night Brewing, a local craft beer brought along their now famous brews: Eye Patch Ale and Drafty Kilt Scotch Ale. I didn't try the Eye Patch Ale, but I did try the Scotch Ale and I loved it! It was deep and smokey, without being too dark and heavy. Fortunately, these guys are bringing their brews to the market, and they can now be found all over Atlanta.
I also tried the coffee:Cacao IPA. Now, I'm not much of an IPA fan, but my friend Jason promised notes of coffee and chocolate, so my friends and I thought we'd give it a try.
Jason approved...
...as did we.
I've gone to a few events at the Roastery now, and they just keep getting better. This party was no exception! After all, Scoutmob always knows how to show Atlantans a good time. Keep your eyes open for these delicious coffee pops all over Atlanta!

I am so jealous that you go to to go this - I tried to finagle a way to get to it, but life complications got in the way. I'll just have to try the pops directly from KoP (I have my eye on the mocha). Glad to see this post though - at least I can vicariously enjoy the experience. ;)
This looked like such a fun event! Sadly I had to work, so glad you did such a wonderful recap! I can't wait to try these new flavors!
Thanks for the kind words about the Monday Night Drafty Kilt Scotch Ale! Glad you enjoyed the event. We had a blast too.
